MYLES AQUINO

Filmmaker. Photographer. Designer.

Myles is a Las Vegas/Los Angeles-based freelance DP/AC and holds a BFA in Cinema Production. Experienced on both large and small crews in the industry for the past five years and counting, he has worked on several independent features, short films, commercials, and corporate sets as a director of photography, camera operator, 16mm and 35mm analog loader, 1st/2nd AC, DIT, and gaffer. He was previously a teaching assistant in post-production, film equipment technician, digital projectionist, learning assistant for the CTD Program’s Image Design classes, and currently serves as an equipment technician and camera operator for a local production company and several freelance projects. He still continues his work as a freelance photographer and videographer for events and commercial projects, BTS photographer for film sets, and a freelance editor and designer.

Myles is the recipient of two Virgil Grillo Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking Awards from the Department of Cinema Studies at CU Boulder and a grant winner for the Center for Humanities & Arts’ Call to Combat Anti-Asian Racism and two time grant recipient of both the Aputure Lighting and Kodak Educational Grants for his films. He has several works that have been admitted into film festivals, including Colorado Dragon Boat Film Festival organized by Denver Film Festival and Horsetooth International Film Festival. Outside of film, Myles writes screenplays, practices 35mm photography and hand development, and collaborates with local artists for installation and exhibit works involving stills and video.
